Testing - added with AWB
AWB[]
Hi, I am using AWB to find things through the Obduction wiki (Special pages not though) and it's usefull for local work, but when I press Save, it shows the green saving thing moving but at the end nothing gets changed. Any ideas? BTW, do you think it's OK if I rename the minecart to railcart? Hoverfish77 (talk) 20:42, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

- Yes, logged in with green fandom user low-right corner, everything comes up as expected, changes I plan to do pass in the edit window, but as said, nothing gets saved. Will do the renaming manually anyway, as I have done till now. Hoverfish77 (talk) 23:40, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Implementation of slideshow in this wiki[]
Hi Grendal. I was trying various presentation methods and I tested the gallery mode=slideshow in my sandbox. It's too jumpy while fetching and resizing the images to be of any use. On the contrary, the same code in the Community Central help page on galleries it works smooth and in a different format: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Galleries#Slideshows. How is that? I tried their mode=slider and it works fine, although the width is set at 670px and no trick can resize it. I am using the slider method (like in Heart - sometimes I have to reload the page to see it work though) but it would be nice to have the slideshow work as in the Central page. Any suggestions? - Oops, sorry for not seeing this yet. I like the look of mode=slider as well, though as you found it's a bit restrictive (though maybe some custom JS for it could work?). I'm not sure why slideshow is jumpy like that... I thought it might be because the images are slightly differently sized but changing it to be all the same image like on the Fandom Central page still has the same issue. - No problem at all. The slider mode is quite OK where it can be used. The slideshow can be preferable in some other cases. I tried it with the same "example" image they display at Central and in our wiki it doesn't work like theirs. If I could find where their slideshow JS or where the JS in the obduction.wiki is situated, I could try to fix it. I will check if Magiczocker knows before I ask at Fandom discord. Revamping the Home page[]
Hi Grendal, No hurry, whenever you see this: I simplified some CSS from another wiki and I am redesigning the start page of Obduction here. You'll need to copy my Custom.css either in yours or in the MediaWiki. It's still not perfect but I am checking it in my mobile and tablet and it works fine. Your redesign looks good, if a little generic. I'm not much of a designer though lol, can't really complain since it works well. And it definitely is better on mobile than the current.
